My cat has been very ill and vomiting after eating dry cat food that had been left out for a while. I had assumed that dry cat food could be left out for quite a long time without any problem, but I am wondering now if that is correct. If it is possible for dry cat food to be contaminated with bacteria then I shall have to decide how long it can safely be left out. What is considered to be safe?
My cat has been vomiting lately after eating the dry cat food I have left out for him. It has been sitting out there for a while. When I gave him wet food, he did not vomit. I always assumed dry cat food can't get contaminated because it's dry. How long can I leave out dry cat food before I should think of replacing it?

Cats can live a long and healthy life whilst eating almost exclusively just one food. They also seem perfectly happy to do that - and it seems that they get all the nutrition thay need.
Wouldn't it be just great if we humans could do the same. If there was only one food it could be produced in massive quantities and that would make it very cheap indeed. It would also make it easier to feed the world because the same food would be available to every one regardless of their income and how rich their country was.
If it was like a dry cat food it could be kept for long periods of time and there would be much less food wasted.
I guess restaurant onwers might not be as keen though!d healthy life whilst eating almost exclusively just one food. They also seem perfectly happy to do that - and it seems that they get all the nutrition thay need.

I want to give my cat the highest quality cat food. I have been feeding her purina dry and fancy feast because she loves it but recently she has been throwing up the fancy feast so I wanted to switch. I did some research and blue buffalo seems like a great choice: no soy, wheat or by products. However buying the cans every month (2 cans per day for a month is 60 cans which close to 65 dollars including dry food and liter), I can't afford all that I want for her so I wanted to know what you guys thought, is it okay to feed her the dry blue buffalo everyday instead of dry and wet food. I provide her with fresh water everyday and I know primarily cats need to eat wet food for its moisture.

I can't make up my mind which is better for my cat - wet or
dry cat food. So I am thinking about giving my cat a mix of wet and
dry cat food. I like the idea of giving him wet food in the middle of the day with dry cat food first thing in the morning and in the evening. This way I would hope he will get the benefits of both types of cat food.
If anybody fees their cat in this way I would be grateful for any tips and suggestions about whether this will be good for my cat and which brands of cat food they think would be best
