Raw Food eating Aby Cats {BARF diet} Chicken Hearts
WARNING: Graphically Natural! This is two Abyssinian cats eating raw chicken hearts. Hearts are one of the best of the raw meats, because it is both an organ and a muscle meat. I do NO preparation to the meats that I give these cats. Occasionally I will cut up large pieces of meat; however, they have eaten WHOLE sheep hearts. That's what their teeth are for. Chicken necks are also a perfect combination providing the raw bone, which is excellent for teeth and vitamins and mineral of course. They also get lambs fry (liver), and if gizzards when we used to be able to get them. They eat all meats. (I do also have some backup canned food and veterinarian dry food, for my convenience if traveling or if we run out of meat.) They are not fussy; their teeth are perfect with very little tartar (they will soon be seven years old on 'our' birthday; as we are born on the same day.
Remember, cats are not dogs. If you are thinking of a raw meat diet for your pet — DO pursue it AND make sure you read up about it.
My aby eats raw, cooked and some times grain free kibble. Raw chicken is his favorite. He loves hearts, gizzards but not so much liver.
